The meaning of this particular sentence is  the older thing has most significant features or importance then the newer thing.

The below sentence teach us that a thing that is much older for example, the things present in the museums of ancient times has great attention of peoples then the latest things. The older things have great attention of peoples because they can made with pure materials then the things that can made now a days.For example;-

the jewelry of ancient times can be sold out in billions but the latest jewelry can be sold out in lacs ,So this is the main difference.
