Metaphor is a figure of speech in which we can apply the phrases or a part of a sentence to a thing which is non applicable in reality,and it shows the similarity of characteristics between two things.Many people thought that metaphor is nothing as we can use the sweet words in our poems .However in reality or in our daily life we can mostly use metaphors in our casual talk.It is a simple thing that can make a comparison between two unlike things . By mistakes we can not compare the metaphor with simile.Metaphors are commonly used in quotations, poems etc.For example we should follow the quotes of'' William Shakespeare'' as follows;
''Look,love,what envious streaks
Do lace the serving clouds in the yonder East
Nights candles are burnt out,and jocund day
Stands the tiptoe on the misty mountain tops''
Through this poem the meaning of a metaphor can be examined correctly.
